Georgia gubernatorial candidate Vernon Jones commented Saturday on a new report that said state officials collected more than 10,300 illegal votes in Georgia in the November 2020 general election.
The Federalist reported the story about the illegal votes Friday.
Georgia law requires that residents vote in the county in which they reside — unless they changed their residence within 30 days of the election. The Federalist quoted Mark Davis, the president of Data Productions, Inc. and an expert in data analytics and residency issues. Davis obtained data from the National Change of Address (NCOA) database.
Davis, the publication went on to say, found nearly 35,000 Georgia voters who said they moved from one county to another and voted in the 2020 general election from the county from which they had moved.
Under Georgia law, residents must vote in the county in which they reside, unless they changed their residence within 30 days of the election.
Davis obtained data from the NCOA database that identified Georgia residents who had confirmed moves with the U.S. Postal Service. He reportedly identified nearly 35,000 Georgia voters who indicated they had moved from one Georgia county to another, but then voted in the 2020 general election in the county from which they had moved.
“Some of those moves could have been temporary, involving students or members of the military, Davis stressed, adding that under Georgia law temporary relocations do not alter citizens’ residency status or render their votes illegal,” The Federalist reported.
“But, given the margin separating the two presidential candidates, approximately one-third of the votes at issue could have altered the outcome of the election. Yet the media, the courts, and the Secretary of State’s Office ignored or downplayed the issue.”
Jones addressed the report in a newsletter to his supporters Saturday.
“Yesterday’s damning report comes as no surprise to any of us who have been paying attention. It’s just the latest example of fraud and/or incompetence to surface and mark my words, it won’t be the last. As the report accurately states, this evidence vindicates President Trump and his legal team for the related public (and private) comments and legal arguments made in challenging the Georgia election results,” Jones said.
“And it further proves what I’ve been saying all along, there’s a dead cat on the end of this line. And the only way we’re going to get to the bottom of it, is with a full, statewide forensic audit. The question is: why are RINO GA Republicans like Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensperger siding with Democrats to try to keep that from happening? I think it’s pretty clear to most Georgians by now, Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensperger failed to conduct a secure election and they’ve been trying to cover it up ever since.”
